I often get asked about what makeup I use, especially what I use on my face. I'm hopeless at eye makeup but I seem to have nailed getting a flawless face with minimal coverage.
I'm lucky to have pretty good skin apart from the occasional break out which causes me to lock myself away in my room and catch up on missed episodes of Lost.
Day to day I generally don't wear makeup especially if I'm going to the gym. The only women that wear makeup to the gym are there to pick up a sweaty banker or bat their eyelids at a much younger personal trainer (don't think I haven't noticed). However, when I do decide that I want to look presentable I have three holy grail face products.
1. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
This is the best primer that I've ever used and if you're planning on keeping your makeup on for more than a few hours, sweating, not melting and looking fresh then you need this.
2. Hourglass Illusion Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser
I never use full coverage foundations. Only use something heavy if you REALLY need it. As far as tinted moisturisers go this is one of my favourites (along with Chanticalle and By Terry) as it's incredibly light but makes enough of a difference to brighten up your skin.
3. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
This puppy is my secret weapon for tired eyes. Even if you've been out all night, this will keep you looking fighting fresh for the agonising day ahead (Aspirin UPSA from French pharmacies is my best hangover cure).
What are you beauty must haves for a flawless face?
I can't figure out if I love or loathe Isabel Marant's new Benny sneaker boot. It took me a while to get the Beckett's but now two pairs down the line it's safe to say it's love. Perhaps the Benny will grow on me and will solve the age old problem of wanting to wear sneakers at night.

I'm enjoying coral nails and a tan so deep it almost matches the colour of my hair while it lasts.
This ring is my new favourite, it's a freshwater pearl with intricate little diamonds given to my grandmother by my grandfather in the 60s from Gumps in San Francisco.
That's it, I cannot contain how much I'm currently adoring all things Stella McCartney. Never has there been such a plethora of classic pieces which are so modern and relevant and will be season in and season out. These dresses really are investment pieces (unlike those leopard print Louboutin stripper heels you're stalking right now). I like to think of them as the wearable 300 SL.
Get yours while you can.

I love my stripper heels as much as the next person but since I have hit the ripe old age of 25 I'm craving a little elegance, simplicity and sex appeal that's more Lauren Bacall instead of call girl. These Louboutin's are it and sadly girls they are from last season so get your Sherlock Holmes on and try to track them down, they make a welcome change from chunky platforms that belong in the closet of a Celebrity Big Brother reject.

Lanvin's AW12 collection is all about construction. These dresses are architectural masterpieces with the folds, pleats and lines to make any building-enthusiasts toes curl. It also provides the rest of us something to want, need and have to have.

Hand on my heart, I adore Elena Perminova. She has a quirky sense of style which often appears like she's raided a dressing up box of couture pieces that don't quite work. It sounds so wrong but always turns out so right. If you can't appreciate her eclectic sense of style you've at least gotta give the woman props for looking like that after two children.

When it comes to bags, I've recently decided
with the help of my chiropractor that smaller bags are best. There is nothing chic about looking like you've got a bag full of spare clothes and unsorted makeup that follows you around wherever you may go. Having a small bag allows you to streamline everything. Truth be told, all you need are keys, a credit card, lip balm, phone and maybe some concealer if you've become a victim of the fabled pizza face.
This Stella Mccartney bag will keep you in check and will also keep anti-fur protesters and your token vegan friend happy when you proudly tell them that no leather or animal products were used making this fine creation. It's a win-win-win situation.

My shoulders will be singing with glee after my latest admission that smaller bags are better (unless you're planning a two week trip; overpacking is my middle name). Boxy shapes with adjustable straps and little clutter (yes garish logos, that includes you) tick all my boxes. My latest obsession following Valentino's genius Va Va Voom bag is Proenza's PS11 bag. It took me a while to jump onto the PS bandwagon, I still detest the large version - you're much better suited buying a satchel however it's little sister bag is causing my shoulder to twitch. The hardest decision is choosing a colour!

There is nothing about Zara's August Lookbook that I don't love. Each and every look is perfection. A blend of Chanel, Celine and Balmain, Zara has knocked it out of the park and has proved that remortgaging your house isn't necessary for a stylish wardrobe filled with classic pieces for fall.
