Love is always chic.

When you're getting ready for bikini season in Ibiza there is one thing that is constantly on your mind; food and lots of it.

At the beginning of the summer, my three best friends and I had a wonderful trip to Capri where we did everything in excess (eat, drink, shop, drink, eat, shop).

It was absolutely worth every inch of fat which I've spent the last five weeks trying to melt away.

Capri is not only one of the most beautiful places I've ever been it's every bit as Italian and glamourous as you can possibly imagine. Whilst we all packed our favourite vintage cocktail dresses and impractical heels the food was the stand out winner of the week.

After the arduous journey there, the first thing we needed was a Bellini. The peaches must have been picked that morning, it was the best decision we could have made all day.

Cipriani eat your heart out.

As far as dinner goes we went all over the place.
Amore
Aurora
Villa Verde
Da Paolino

Da Paolino is one of the most magical restaurants you will ever come across. The tables are polka dotted between lush and fragrant lemon trees and the food is second to none (so much so this was a recent contender for my pre-wedding dinner).

We stayed at the Quisisana which has a magnificent, bustling terrace which is fabulous for people watching and pre-dinner drinks.

JK Place also has a glorious terrace which is far more serene with sweeping views over the ocean and of Capri port.

Their bar food was fabulous (other than a soggy grilled cheese sandwich). That was probably the only meal I endeavoured to eat like Gwyneth Paltrow (see my beautiful tomato salad below).

During the day there's a plethora of beaches to visit. We must have ticked every single one off of the list. Il Riccio is by far my favourite. The food here was the best on the island (even better than anywhere we visited for dinner). The decor is fresh and modern which lets the astronomical food do all the talking.

Set on the side of a mountain in Anacapri this restaurant has various little levels where you can sunbathe after a heavy lunch (I cannot stress heavy quite enough). If that all gets too much you can wander down the white washed stairs and jump into the sea.

After we'd gorged ourselves on pasta, hoovered down the bread basket and washed it all down with a few glasses of wine we were introduced to the desert buffet which is wholly responsible for my uncomfortably tight jeans on my return journey.

(I need this sculpture)

Finally, you couldn't dream of visiting Capri without heading to La Fontelina. This is a bare bones beach which is world famous. The food is incredibly fresh and simplicity is key. Before lunch we soaked up as much sun as possible on little white mattresses with a glass of freshly squeezed lemonade, it is something out of a Sophia Loren movie and quite wonderful.

La Fontelina is best reached by their small tender which picks you up from Marina Piccola however we decided to burn off lunch and walk back. This wasn't a smart move considering we most likely had acute sunstroke and one of us was six months pregnant (my stomach is sadly just bloat). This is definitely not for the faint hearted. The views are magnificent but this seemed to pale in significance after we were left short of breath and getting more irritable by the minute.

Capri is a magical place and I'm counting down the days until my favourite girls and I can get there again next year.

Nicole Richie is knocking it out of the park on her recent European endeavour.

I distinctly remember a relative having and wearing this skirt which I immediately dismissed and declared it worthy of a overly eccentric pottery teacher.

How wrong I was.

When I find myself with too much time and too few tasks, I often think about why I wasn't alive in the late 30s and why I wasn't an actress.

These beautiful women should be constant points of reference in style and composure in a sea of Louboutin Daffodils, sickly pink shots and Birkin bags picked up from a Canal Street doorway.

When it's too hot to consider pulling on a pair of jeans why not wear a mens lightweight shirt, little mini and a pair of heels. Appropriate for (almost) every situation.

Helena Christensen gets more beautiful with age. She shows us how to age gracefully (with a pop of nipple).

90s Leopard

I feel my life may not be as wonderful as it should be without a vintage velvet leopard 90s tank top (and red eyebrows).

Although I'm on a makeup ban this month I'm still enjoying making a mental list of the goodies I'd like to buy from the new Lanvin for Lancome collection come August.

Their beautiful mascaras have been transformed by quintessential Lanvin doodles and the highly pigmented palettes would be a beautiful addition to any makeup bag. Now you just have to make the hardest decision you'll face this week; blue or pink?
