These three images are the answer to every woman's questions on winter dressing. While it's easy to focus on keeping frostbite at bay tailoring is imperative (although it does mean keeping your diet in check as all of your lumps and bumps will be on display). Tailored trousers with simple pointed pumps (Manolo Blahnik make my favourite) and a SLIGHTLY oversized slouchy knit in cosy jewel tones should be your uniform of choice.

Leather separates are imperative as is fabulous outerwear with wedged boots (I am currently amassing a rather ridiculous Isabel Marant collection). You may not need to break the bank on this either, Zara offers fabulous alternatives.
